Mehron products are proudly made in the USA.
On September 27, 2023, the European Union (EU) issued Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/2055 to regulate synthetic polymer microparticles ('microplastics') as substances on their own and in mixtures. Loose cosmetic glitters like Mehron Paradise Glitter are also regarded as microplastics.
Consequently, Mehron Paradise Glitters are not allowed to be sold in the EU any longer. However, the EU decided that “to prevent unnecessary product recalls and reduce waste, it is necessary to provide that synthetic polymers microparticles, on their own or in mixtures, that have been placed on the market before 17 October 2023 may continue to be placed on the market”. This means that any stock of Mehron Paradise Glitter available on 17 October 2023 may be sold out.
It is not yet clear if Mehron Inc, USA will replace the synthetic polymer component in Paradise Glitter by an environmentally sound biopolymer.
And to be clear: Mehron Gem Powders and Mehron Metallic Powders do NOT contain synthetic polymers and do not fall under the ban of Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/2055! Also, we assume that GlitterMark is not considered to be loose glitter.
